![]() ![]() I consume music daily through my air pods so I feel I should mix with them? Maybe someone can convince me otherwise. I have a set of proper headphones but I don't really like recording with them or using them in general. This is like a personal preference I guess. I only keep 1 of them in because I need to hear my voice when I rap. The sock on the mic works better than the pop filter I bought so I use the sock. Record with my AT2020 USB condenser mic on my 2017 MacBook Air. Get beat off YouTube, use yt mp3 to download, throw it into GarageBand. I'll walk you through my process at the moment: Youtube tutorials mostly only cover singing or rock music style music, there's one tutorial that helped me on GarageBand but I feel like it's more geared toward a mainstream sound. Lots of deep undertones when I say my O's and A's.īasically I'm hoping someone who is experienced with GarageBand and mixing rap vocals to help me out or offer some insight into how I can sound better. I have a lot of sibilance on my K's, C's, CH's, S's and Sh's. I've got a pretty deep voice, I smoke a lot, very phlegmy sometimes lol but I know I have a very unique sounding voice and it sounds good when I rap. ![]() I've been writing for 10 years and I've got a (discography? lol) of around 400 songs and I just make more all the time. Lots of weird glitchy digital inspiration. I'm intimate with my raps, emotion plays a huge part in my music. ![]() I make rap music similar to Earl Sweatshirt and lots of underground inspiration. I don't know what I'm ACTUALLY doing and have a pretty novice understanding of it all. I don't have a proper understanding of what things do in GarageBand, for example I know this knob does this.and this dial does this.etc. I've been rapping/writing for over 10 years but only started recording back in June of 2021. I use an Audio Technica 2020 USB condenser microphone with a sock on it. A few things ill mention before I go into detail: As the title says, I need help mixing my vocals in GarageBand. ![]()
